Managing Data

Caspio Bridge makes it easy to see and edit data through DataPages.  However, the data in smaller tables can also be directly modified in Caspio Bridge through the Datasheet window.

The Datasheet window presents the data of tables or views in a spreadsheet-like window.  Each row represents one record while each column represents a field.

To open a table in the Datasheet window select the desired table in the Tables view, or view in the Views view,  and click on the toolbar. You can also double-click the table or view name to open it in Datasheet window.

Adding New Records – To add a record, click the New Record button, or move your cursor to the bottom of the window and enter field values.  Clicking on any other row saves the record.

Editing Records – To edit an existing record, click on the desired cell, make your modification, and click on a different row to save the changes.

Deleting Records – To delete a record, click on a cell in that row and click the Delete button.

Reset AutoNumber - To change the starting value or to reset all values in an AutoNumber field, select Edit, and then Reset Autonumber … The configuration window will pop up to let you set up the appropriate settings.

Reset AutoNumber is only enabled inside the Table Datasheet

Find and Replace - To find a record and replace with a different value, click on the Find button. Type in the value you would like replaced in the Find what field and then enter the new value in the Replace with field. You can also specify your search to specific rows/columns and different directions and match types.

Sorting Records – To sort based on a field, click on a cell in that column and click the Ascending   or Descending sort button to sort data.

Filtering By Selection – To filter records find the desired value in a field and click the Filter by Selection button.   Click the Remove Filter button to display all records again.  For example to quickly display all customers from California, click on a State field whose value is California followed by.  This temporarily removes from the display all the records that don't have California in their State field.

Filtering By Duplicates – To filter and group duplicate records, select a field and click on the Filter by Duplicates  button. All records with duplicate values in the selected field will be grouped together. Click the Remove Filter button to display all records again.
