Format Types

This page describes the characteristics of each Caspio Bridge format type. You can define format types for the entire DataPage through a Localization and/or format each field separately when configuring DataPage fields.

Format Type

Description

Number

Defines the presentation of numeric values.

Decimal symbol

A period, a comma, a space or your custom symbol to separate the integral and decimal part.

Digits after decimal

The number of digits after the decimal separator. If the underlying value in the table has greater precision, the value is rounded.

Digit grouping

A period, a comma, a space or your custom symbol to separate the hundreds from thousands and so on.

Negative symbol

Normally a minus.

Negative number format

Five patterns are provided, where "n" is the value and "-" will be replaced by your custom negative symbol, if any.

Currency

Defines the presentation of numeric values representing money amounts.

Decimal symbol

A period, a comma, a space or your custom symbol to separate the integral and decimal part.

Digits after decimal

The number of digits after the decimal separator. If the underlying value in the table has greater precision, the value is rounded.

Digit grouping

A period, a comma, a space or your custom symbol to separate the hundreds from thousands and so on.

Currency symbol

In addition to the three major currency symbols, each region's custom symbols are available. If needed, provide your own custom symbol by entering it in the field on the right.

Positive currency format

Four patterns are provided, where "n" is the value.

Negative currency format

Sixteen patterns are provided, where "n" is the value.

Percent

Defines the presentation of numeric values representing money amounts.

Percent symbol

Normally the % sign.

Positive percent format

Three patterns are provided, where "n" is the value.

Negative percent format

Three patterns are provided, where "n" is the value and "-" will be replaced by your custom negative symbol, if any.

Long date

Defines the long date pattern. Choose one of the many patterns available for the selected region or provide your own format. When specifying a custom format, choose one of the provided patterns first so that it appears in the custom field on the right. Then, choose custom in the end of the list to make the custom field editable, and modify the pattern as necessary.

Short date

Defines the short date pattern. Choose one of the many patterns available for the selected region or provide your own by choosing custom.

Time

Defines the time pattern. Choose one of the patterns available for the selected region, and provide your own AM and PM symbols if desired.

Applies to: Date/Time, Text

Yes/No

Defines the appearance of fields that have two values only: yes or no. They can be represented as Yes/No, Y/N, 0/1, True/False, or your custom symbols. In addition, you can select distinct colors to mark yes and no values.
